5th Annual North vs. South Music Festival, Kansas City, MO, August 21-23.  We're on at 10PM at the legendary Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club.  Check out http://www.myspace.com/northvssouthmusicfestival for more info.
Possible gig at The Parlor Sept. 5th.  Possible gig at The Hole in the Wall at the end of September.  Room 710 is returning our emails again, so hope blooms eternal.

Apologies for the lack of updates, kids, but not much has been happening.  Between my mental illness, Cindy's physical travails, our increasingly absurd inability to get gigs, and the difficulty of getting all five of us in the same place at the same time things have been progressing somewhat slowly.

However, we're rallying and gearing up for the 5th Annual North vs. South Festival.  New songs are in the works when we can find time to practice, we're going to start hammering on club doors and demanding gigs again, and we're going to head back into the studio with Ron Flynt ASAP and start turning our demo into an honest to God record.  So keep the faith and we'll keep you posted.

I told you guys I was going to bang on you about this one, so here goes.  FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28th, ROOM 710, 8PM The Sanguinistas will play.  We really, really need every single one of you in Austin and the surrounding area to come out to this.  710 is about the coolest room in town and we'd like to be invited back for more and better shows.  This will largely hinge on our turnout on the night in question.  You guys signed up for the Stickpony email list, presumably because you liked Stickpony, and none of you opted out when I gave you the opportunity.  The Sanguinistas are better - come out and see for yourself.  Especially Dec. 28th.  We really need to kick start this thing before me and the rest of the crew lose interest, so come down and spend some of that Christmas money.  We really need your help this time around.  End of heart felt plea.

Our good buddies Triplewide were kind enough to add The Sanguinistas to their CD release show Saturday Jan. 5th, 10 PM, at Club 115 here in Austin.  That'll be a good one, too.  A new club for us and a chance to pick up the new record from one of the rockinest, most under-rated bands in town.  Who said the holidays are over?

We'll see you at both, por favor.  Let's get The Sanguinistas going proper here in Austin and make Triplewide's record release a night to remember.

As always, have a pleasant and safe holiday season.  No jail time, please.

Here's what The Sanguinistas and various solo Sanguinistas are getting up to this month.  All shows are in Austin, TX.

Sat. Dec 1st - The Parlor on North Loop - Lonesome Dave and his Lonesome Lonesomes - 10PM

Tues. Dec 4th - Patsy's Cowgirl Cafe - Lonesome Dave and his Lonesome Lonesomes - 8 PM

Wed. Dec 12th - Jovita's - The Sanguinistas play after our buddies The Johns - Music starts at 7PM (unconfirmed as yet - we'll let you know)

Sat. Dec 15th - Clementine's Coffee Bar - Brit Jones' Endless Bummer featuring Lonesome Dave.  Kevin Carney of The Wannabes headlines - 9PM

Tues. Dec 18th - Patsy's Cowgirl Cafe - Lonesome Dave Fisher and his Lonesome Lonesomes - 8PM

Fri. Dec 28th - Room 710 - The Sanguinistas happy hour - 8PM

Of course we'd like to see you out at all these shows, but as this is a Sanguinistas communique' I'm going to plug the Dec 28th show the most. Room 710 will be guaging how many people we're good for in order to decide if we get to come back in a better slot.  710 was very, very good to Stickpony and we'd like that relationship to carry over to The Sanguinistas, so I sincerely implore everyone reading this that can possibly make it to come out that night.  A big audience is essential to us having a future at this super cool venue.

Please have a safe holiday season and we'll look for you out at the shows.

Hey friends, we just wanted to express condolences at the passing of our friend Byron Scott, who died Friday morning, Nov. 16th.  Byron was one hell of a musician and one hell of a nice guy as well.  Brit wrote a short eulogy for him at www.myspace.com/sanguinistas, with Lonesome Dave adding on a bit.  This already sad world is a little sadder now.

Hey folks - I regret to inform you that The Sanguinistas will not be performing tomorrow night at Headhunter's due to some health issues I'm having.  It looks like I'm past the worst of it, but one thing it took me 35 years to learn is that I shouldn't take this stuff lightly.  So, better safe than sorry.  Some of you on this list know that I've only cancelled three gigs in the last 20 years in spite of catastrophic illness and multiple hospitalizations, so please believe me when I say this decision wasn't lightly made.
I encourage you to stop on by Headhunters even so, as Stevie Tombstone (last gig in Austin before he moves to NYC) and Lonesome Dave Fisher are both gonna rock the house.

Turns out Lonesome Dave and his Lonesome Lonesomes (sometimes featuring yours truly on rhythm guitar) are on the Nov 14th bill at Headhunters along with Stevie Tombstone and The Sanguinistas.  This lineup is a hell of a good reason to get your ass off the couch and head out on a Wednesday night.  10 PM.  See ya there.
